all kinds of writing

This is a book about celibacy and breaking celibacy. I thought, wouldn’t it be interesting to write a book about NOT having sex? This angle intrigued me. What kind of character would need to avoid sex? And I wanted to build a romance with lots of sexual tension.

So...enter Gina Caldwell, heartbroken, bed-hopping 20-something who cries to her Aunt Mimi that all men are creeps. Aunt Mimi believes Gina jumps into love and the sack too quickly. Mimi challenges Gina to go three months before sleeping with a guy, BUT Gina has to date, build a relationship and get to know the guy.

What about Aunt Mimi, though? She’s been widowed for a year, and at 45 feels like her book of love is ended. Gina’s not buying it. If Gina has to change her outlook on love and sex, so does Aunt Mimi.

Once I worked though these character’s hopes, dreams, flaws and hang-ups, I had a novel full of sexual tension, blooming romances and everyone finding love again.
The First Time, Again...
where did it come from?
